BALIKLAYA is a newly-organized student-run organization in the Ateneo de Manila University fundamentally engaged in prison service work, whose core mission is to steer its membership towards the task of nation building by undertaking such projects which uplift the dignity, worth, and welfare of one of the most misconceived, marginalized, and impoverished sectors of Philippine society – the prisoners. To kick off the year, we are celebrating BALIKLAYA WEEK on 11-15 January 2010 (Monday to Friday), simultaneous to which is the Baliklaya Bazaar to be held at Zen Garden everyday, from 8.00am-5.00pm. To maximize foot traffic, activities such as launch, exhibit, games, and fashion show shall be held on said site. With the commitment of delivering quality prison service, the proceeds of this fundraising activity will finance the various projects of the organization including Legal Aid & Rights Seminar, Medical-Dental Mission, Business & Livelihood Workshops.
